Scheduling made easy at Biennale de Lyon

The Biennale de Lyon began using DIESE in 2019 to streamline staff scheduling and event planning across multiple venues.

As one of Lyon’s most iconic cultural events, the Biennale implemented DIESE scheduling software to efficiently organize activities and manage employees throughout the city.

A year-round cultural event with complex scheduling needs

Despite its name, the Biennale de Lyon runs programming every year, alternating between contemporary art and dance.

Exhibitions, performances, and public events take place across numerous venues, requiring advanced planning and workforce coordination.

Staff scheduling optimized for on-site teams

At the end of its 15th edition dedicated to contemporary art, the Biennale completed the implementation of DIESE’s staff scheduling solution.

The initial focus was on operational staff, including:

  • attendants
  • night watchmen
  • front-of-house teams

These teams are now scheduled in DIESE and can:

  • view their schedules
  • confirm shifts
  • add comments

directly through the myDiese employee mobile portal.

Reliable time tracking and payroll integration

The integrated system provides the administration with accurate and real-time data on:

  • hours worked
  • pre-calculated payroll elements

This ensures efficient time tracking and reliable payroll management.

Towards full event and workforce planning

For the 2020 edition dedicated to dance, the Biennale plans to expand its use of the platform.

The overall event planning, including artistic programming and activities, will be fully integrated into the software.

Staff scheduling will also evolve further, with permanent employees using myDiese to manage their own availability and schedules.
