Since 2017, #DIESE has supported centralized operations at the Grand Théâtre de Genève

#DIESE Grand Théâtre de Genève

Since 2017, the Grand Théâtre de Genève has relied on #DIESE, a performing arts management software, to centralize planning and streamline the management of artistic and production contracts.

In a demanding environment—marked by complex co-productions and highly mobile teams – #DIESE provides a reliable, long-term system that is now widely used across the organization.

A leading opera house with complex operations

As one of Europe’s leading opera houses, the Grand Théâtre de Genève delivers an ambitious program, often developed in collaboration with major international institutions.

This requires close coordination between artistic, technical, and administrative teams – making centralized planning software essential.

Each season, several hundred contracts must be managed, while operations continue across multiple venues, including the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices during renovation periods.

Centralized planning and contract management in one system

The project launched in 2017 addressed two key needs:

  • centralizing activity and staff planning

  • securing the management of artistic and production contracts

#DIESE was selected as a theatre management software solution capable of structuring all workflows within a single platform, while integrating with existing HR, payroll, and financial systems.

A scalable and standard software deployment

At the Grand Théâtre de Genève, #DIESE is implemented in a standard configuration, without custom development. This ensures scalability, long-term stability, and ease of use.

The software supports:

  • production and project management

  • organization-wide planning

  • contact and artist database management

  • artistic contract management

  • workforce scheduling and time tracking

  • inventory management (including costumes)

  • reporting and analytics

  • full team access via the #MyDiese portal

The platform integrates with key systems such as DocuSign (e-signature), Secutix (ticketing), and Abacus and SAP (finance).

Three key strengths that make the difference

Fully integrated workforce planning and #MyDiese portal

Workforce planning features and the #MyDiese portal are fully embedded in daily operations.

All staff have access to reliable, up-to-date, and shared information, improving coordination and information flow.

Robust artistic contract management

Artistic contract management is a central pillar of the implementation.

#DIESE structures the entire contract lifecycle—from creation to electronic signature—while ensuring data security and process reliability.

The ballet: advanced use for touring

The Grand Théâtre de Genève Ballet, internationally recognized for its excellence, stands out for its advanced use of #DIESE in organizing tours.

Activities, travel, and resources are planned in a structured and efficient way, despite significant mobility constraints.
