Implementing a Covid-Safe Room Booking System

In 2020, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) started using MyDiese to allow students to book rehearsal rooms online.

The second lockdown in France created the need for a tool that avoids long lines in front of rooms. This way, students can rehearse safely and organize their schedules more efficiently.

Simplified room management

For several months, CNSMDP wanted to streamline room management. In particular, rehearsal rooms needed a simple and reliable booking system.
With over a thousand students, each with a unique schedule, the conservatory needed a centralized tool to check availability and reserve spaces quickly.

In September 2020, MyDiese launched for 1,300 students. Each student can use a mobile-friendly portal to view their schedule and book available rooms easily.

Clear booking rules

IT4Culture set up custom validation rules.
Thus, no student can reserve too many rooms or book too far in advance. Additionally, some rooms require administrator approval. These rules ensure fair access for everyone.

An essential solution during Covid-19

This feature proved essential during the lockdown. All rooms and studios stayed available.
Consequently, students could work and rehearse safely on campus.
In just four months, about 30,000 bookings were made in 150 rooms and studios, averaging 1,500 requests per week.

MyDiese evolves with user needs

We are proud to support the continuity of artistic activities at CNSMDP.
Room booking now complements a portal already used to view schedules, manage production information, request absences, and store contacts.
Moreover, MyDiese adapts to the needs of students and institutions, even in exceptional situations like Covid-19.
